Coastal Foundation Drilling Co. is a privately owned corporation providing commercial and industrial drilled pier services in all areas of the industry for over 30 years. We are located in Houston, Texas, servicing the entire Texas coastal region as well as Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas. We specialize in difficult jobs that may require deep slurry shafts, cased shafts and low clearance shafts. Our team prides themselves in the quality of their work and the constant attention to all safety requirements. We conduct most of our business in the petrochemical and plastic plant industries; however, we also have years of expertise in all areas of foundation drilling. Coastal is also insured with all the required basic insurance, including a $5 million umbrella coverage. Coastal can provide your project with equipment that is capable of 60’ depths with rubber-tired, truck-mounted drill rigs and 80’ depths with low clearance equipment. Our equipment inventory is constantly maintained for safety and all regulatory requirements.
Coastal's equipment operators and ground crews are the most experienced individuals within the drilled pier industry. All of our employees are required to obtain a TWIC Card, must pass background checks, DISA drug screens, and acquire extensive in-house safety training in addition to the training provided by the Houston Area Safety Council. Coastal can also accommodate many other various sites specific safety requirements as needed for commercial chemical or industrial projects in and around the Greater Houston Area.
Coastal incorporates an extensive OSHA training program led by their full-time safety director. Coastal’s mission is to assure safe and healthful workplaces by enforcing standards, and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance to their employees.
History and Equipment
Coastal’s equipment consist of one Texoma 700 (mounted on a Kenworth), four Texoma 600s and one Texoma 270 (all mounted on Mack trucks). Coastal’s low-clearance equipment currently consists of four track-mounted LoDrills on Komatsus (see photos for detail). Coastal also has two E42 track-mounted mini-drills for your smaller projects requiring tight access. Coastal can provide an array of custom drilling tools, casings and other products to support your project’s specific needs.
Mike Campbell is president of the company and has been providing solutions for the drilling industry since 1982. J.H. (Bill) Campbell, the founder of Coastal, had been in the foundation drilling business since 1971.
